Inlet and outlet are separate questions
The inlet connects the valve to the cylinder; the outlet connects it to the regulator or filling equipment. They follow different standards, and matching one does not imply the other matches.
Standards vary by market
The same gas can use different outlet connections in different countries. When you record a connection, record the country the cylinder is used in as well — it changes which standards are relevant.
What to record when the standard is unknown
Thread diameter, thread pitch, whether the thread is internal or external, and whether it is parallel or tapered. Photographs of the thread alongside a ruler are useful.
